The sculptures will consist of two spheres; one located in a prominent site in the city and the other in the Peace Park in Kosovo. Up to 10 feet in diameter and created from 10,000 real leaves. Each leaf is donated by an individual sponsor as a symbol of unity. The leaves will be cast in metal and bonded together to form the sculptures. Through MAK (Manchester Aid for Kosovo) the great city of Manchester has shown its support for a small war torn country.
These sculptures are a permanent and powerful way of communicating the special link that has formed between these two places.
